Simple Woman's Daybook::January Edition

Wow, it's a really long time since I 'Daybook-ed with any vague regularity.  As I'm striving for more simplicity in 2013, it seems like a good habit to pick up again!

{Thanks also to Lu for inspiring me to start again ;) }

FOR TODAY...Monday 7th January, 2013

Outside my window
...the sky is grey and overcast - but dry!  I can hear wheelie-bins being wheeled back into my neighbours houses {glamour!}

I am thinking...that the only problem with working afternoons is that I get in the swing of home in the morning and really really don't want to go in!  Ha!

I am thankful...that I managed to speak to my Consultant's Secretary and she is going to find out the answer to a question I had.  {I hate ringing medical people about anything ever, and this was a job I was dreading.  In fact, it was super easy, and I am grateful.}

In the kitchen...I made a veggie lasagne yesterday to do a few meals this week.  C'est tout.

I am wearing...yoga pants and a t-shirt.  Should really ge dressed for work.  But I am lazy.

I am creating...crochet-ed pretty things for the Folksy shop I'm {fiiiinally launching next week.  More details to follow!

I am going...to hang my laundry up to dry.  Monday is Chore-day according to my new, simpler schedule, I've given the house a quick once-over, just waiting for the washing machine to finish.  I know, rock'n'roll, right?

I am wondering...what the piece of music on the radio is.  [Edit: It's Brahms 'Symphony no. 2 in D Major']

I am reading...American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld.  On audiobook from the library. It's pretty good, but long.  I'm about a third of the way through.

I am hoping...My Consultant says "yes" to my question, so I can start making holiday plans :)

I am looking forward to...Les Miserables coming out on Friday.  FINALLY.

I am learning...to chill out and take things easier this year.  Less stress=more room for awesome.  TRUE.

Around the house...relatively clean, but I am on a decluttering kick and determined to get things more organised/tidy around here.

I am pondering...what books to add to my to-read list.  Any suggestions?

One of my favourite things...My mornings, now they are my own.  It's lovely to wake up and get a few jobs done before I head out the door.

A few plans for the rest of the week:  catching up on Fringe with Mother and Brother, getting my Folksy up and running (and learning to accept that "running" is better than "waiting until everything is perfect"), continuing the big declutter, catching up with a couple of friends.

A peek into my day...work, Fringe and lots of knitting.

  1. I enjoyed your post today. I see you are very busy making the best of your New Year! I would have a similar problem of going in to work in the afternoon after puttering around the house all morning but I think for you it will work out for very. Have a great week.

"Yesterday, you were normal. Today you're like the Chinese guy out of The Karate Kid. What's with you today?"

"What's with today, today..?"
